I've been doing it big at the gym and I just started. Too big actually. Yesterday my emotions were all over the place and full of negative thought, so I decided to run it off. I woke up a little late today, but still went to the gym. Arms, abs, then walking around the track watching hiphop youtube videos and cooling down. That's me! 😉 I was thinking of how long I should run, but I realized I needed to eat and sleep more. I walked a couple more laps then did just that. It's been a long year. I'm not making the progress that I'd like, thank you Prednisone, but you can't deny I'm making progress. . It can be extremely discouraging to push so hard, to eat only the right things, to drink all the water and none of the wine or margaritas... and still just not see it happening. . I'm not giving up. I'm not stopping. This is a journey. . Right now, my journey is slow on the weight loss front because other things are happening. I'm only on 2mg of Prednisone. That's HUGE. For my health, it's more important than losing these last 50lbs. It's that level of huge. It's just hard because I can't see that in every picture, mirror, or reflection. . Maybe next year I'll be at my goal. Maybe not. But next year, I'll be closer than I am now. . Keep going guys. Even if you stumble. Even if you eat 3 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies in a day. Just start over. You know what feels really good? Following through on commitments you make to yourself. One day at a time. I’m not focusing on the number on the scale or the size of my clothes. I’m focusing on moving my body, counting nutrients instead of calories, and working towards re-establishing mindful habits that I’ve let slide these last few months. Stress can be debilitating. The last few months of our lives have not exactly gone the way we thought and there have been a lot of bumps in the road. I kept showing up for my workouts because I’ve learned to love and rely on moving my body. Nutrition, on the other hand... wasn’t really showing up there. I ate my veggies and drank my superfoods but I also YOLOed every chance I got. I distracted myself with blizzards, pizza, allllllll the kid snacks, and pretty much anything that sounded good. While it’s fun to eat in the moment I was approaching food like an unsupervised toddler on Halloween 🎃 Last weekend I decided enough was enough and I didn’t FEEL the way I want to feel. This week I’ve refocused on those feel good foods, I’m taking a break from that YOLO life (just for now!), and I’m feeling better each day.
